Taking flight: The Wings Conference on climate and technology

Portland is often seen as a leader when it comes to climate change thinking and activity. But apart from some amazing targeted events here and there — and communities like Climate Curious — the climate tech community has been wanting for a major conference to focus conversations and energy. But now, they have exactly that. Meet the Wings Conference.

From the organizers:

Building off a successful event led by TAO and Climate Curious last year, the two organizations joined by Vertuelab, Prosper Portland, and PSU are planning a larger one day event to showcase Oregon climate tech and bring together the community passionate about the intersection of climate solutions, climate justice and economic opportunity. At the Wings Conference on April 25, you can expect to learn more about the work of many of the coalitions that have now formed to tackle different industries and workforce challenges in climate. The conference will be a mix of main stage TED style talks from Oregon climate leaders, deep dive sessions, showcase of startups and social entrepreneurs, and an interactive expo. The world of climate tech is rapidly changing and this conference is a time to bring together the vast community of Oregonians working on a diverse set of climate and environmental solutions that impact energy, agriculture, mobility, food, waste, consumer products and the built environment.

Interested in attending? The event takes place April 25, 2024, at the Viking Pavilion on the Portland State University campus. Tickets are $327. Sponsorship opportunities are also available.
