Stiira and Yak walk away with big checks at the Angel Oregon Tech competition

According to Portland Business Journal, there were multiple winners in the OEN Angel Oregon Tech competition, this time around. Stiira walked away with the big prize, but local startup Yak also secured an investment from the angel investors.

Portland startup Stiira walked away the big winner in this year’s Angel Oregon Tech competition.

The startup, which makes HR software, was awarded $145,000 from the program’s angel investors. Last year, the company won the seed stage investment from the West Side Pitch event.

In addition to the award to Stiira, the event’s angel investors also backed Portland-based startup Yak with a $55,000 investment.

Yak makes software that streamlines and automates the audit process for auditors. Earlier this summer the company won the Best Overall and Audience Choice award at the Columbia River Pitch competition.
