Could have foretold this one: Portland Seed Fund alum 4-Tell snags $1 million round

And the hits just keep on coming.

Fast on the heels of Portland Seed Fund alum Vizify closing a round, PSF alum 4-Tell announced today that they had closed a $1 million round. Erik Siemers at the Portland Business Journal broke the news.

Individual investors in the round include Craig Froude, former CEO of WebMD; Steve Sliwa, former CEO of Bingen, Wash.-based unmanned aircraft manufacturer Insitu Inc.; Bruce Davis, CEO of Beaverton-based digital watermarking technology company Digimarc Corp.; and Doug Fieldhouse, CEO of Portland-based electronic payments software company Vesta Corp.

Other investors include Portland-based conglomerate The Yoshida Group, the Gorge Angel Investor Network and the Portland Seed Fund.

What will the cash do for 4-Tell?

ā€œThe funding will help expand our reach to more retailers, and across all channels, including web, social, mobile and email,” said Ken Levy, CEO, in a press release. “Recommendations in cart abandonment and shipping confirmation emails are a big focus for us in 2012. This is cutting edge stuff.ā€

In addition, the investment has already resulted in two development hires and one marketing hire.
