PIE Demo Day: Grab a seat and get ready for another slice of PIE, October 5

[Full disclosure: I work for PIE] It seems like just yesterday that summer was just taking hold in Portland, Gangnam Style had just been uploaded to YouTube, and a new class of fresh faces began their first day at PIE.

Well, those three months have flown by. And now, it’s time once again for PIE startups to take the stage, to present what they’ve built during their time at PIE. And to reveal the next steps for their companies. Best of all? You’re invited to join them.

This time, seven startups will be taking part in the event:

  • AppThwack
  • KS12
  • Lytics
  • Plexus Engine
  • Portland Women’s Software Academy
  • Stublisher
  • Vadio

Sound interesting? PIE Demo Day will take place on October 5 at the Gerding Theater in the Armory. Doors open at 1:30PM. It is free to attend. Just RSVP before the seats are gone.

For more information on the program, visit PIE (Portland Incubator Experiment).

But wait… there’s more

One of the current PIE companies, KS12, is working on a project to tell the story of PIE and the Portland startup scene as a whole. And they’d love to have you participate… even before you get to Demo Day.

Why is Portland an interesting place to create a startup? How can we understand entrepreneurs and software engineers to be a new creative class? What roles do story and performance play in the creation of an enterprise? Following the true story of a group of aspiring startups in the Portland Incubator Experiment (PIE), in the context of Portland’s creative and technology ecosystem, KS12 introduces Early Stage, a Video Sprint in collaboration with PIE which starts a conversation on these topics and invites your participation.

Join in on the conversation via Quora, using the hashtag #earlystage, or by corresponding directly with @ks12 on Twitter. For more information, see KS12’s description of “Early Stage.”

  1. As a participant at PIE, I’ve seen everyone’s pitches getting stronger and stronger. I bet attendees will find the startups very interesting.
