Portland Seed Fund alum Brandlive walks away with the OEN Angel Oregon win

The annual OEN Angel Oregon competition was held yesterday. A bunch of promising companies pitched to the crowd. But when the dust settled, it was one of the tech companies that walked away the winner, BrandLive.

Today Portland-based Brandlive, which develops branded live video communication software http://www.yourbrandlive.com, was selected as the winner of Oregon Entrepreneurs Network’s Angel Oregon 2013 from among the Launch Stage companies competing for the angel investment prize of $260,000 to date (it can grow following the event). Brandlive was also voted by OEN’s Angel Oregon attendees as Audience Favorite from among the Launch Stage companies.

An alum of the Portland Seed Fund—the local startup accelerator backed by a mixture of municipal and private funding—Brandlive had been chasing a $1.5 million raise on Demo Day, last December. This $260,000 should help fill out that round.

“OEN’s Angel Oregon was a tremendous success with more than 65 companies who applied to compete for the angel investment raised from angels participating in the investment award,” said Ernie Bootsma OEN’s Angel Oregon 2013 program chair. “We are seeing a great deal of company formation taking place that bodes well for the startup scene and the overall economy in Oregon and Southwest Washington.”
