There was a time—a few years back now—when the City of Portland was actively engaged in hackathons. And open data. And engaging with the tech community. That initial momentum has subsided in recent years, but luckily a group of citizens is continuing the charge—with state level data. Meet Hack Oregon.
As part of their efforts, they’re getting folks together this weekend to hack a bit.
In our Civic Data Workshop, Hack Oregon and PNCA students have been working on a project to redesign the way Oregonians understand and interact with campaign funding in our state.
Join us for a day of creative co-working as we invite the community to use our API to tackle other creative challenges with data surrounding this election year.
Sound interesting? The event will be held Saturday, April 5, at the Pacific Northwest College of Art from 10AM-7PM. Everyone is welcome. You don’t have to be “technically oriented.” Just curious. And in true Portland and Oregon form, the event is free of charge.
