[Editor: File under “Better late warning about upcoming events than never.” Apologies.] It’s no secret that Portland is managing to attract its own fair share of regional offices. And while the bulk of those offices tend to outposts for our Bay Area friends, we’re also getting offices from other cities. Like New York.
And tonight, Tuesday, September 30—as luck would have it—two of the more prominent New York companies with Portland offices—AppNexus and Squarespace—will be holding meet ups. One to talk development; the other to talk jobs.
AppNexus Tech Talks: Tools & Useful Techniques for Javascript, 6PM
Join us on Tuesday, September 30 for this special tech talk and Q&A with AppNexus software engineers Joel Griffith and Tim Santeford, as they take a deep dive into JavaScript tools and techniques. In “Using JavaScript to write JavaScript” Joel will discuss the tools used to build the front-end portion of an application. Tim will focus on writing large command line tools in Node in a talk titled “Conquering with Commander.js.”
Squarespace Portland Meetup, 6:30PM
Attention Portland: Squarespace is looking for great talent to join our Customer Care team, and we’ve organized a meet & greet so you can get a feel for our culture and ask any questions in person. Whether you’re interested in becoming a part of our award-winning Customer Care team at Squarespace, or just curious to learn more about who we are and what we do, we’d love to meet you! Drinks and refreshments will be served.
