With a wealth of startups and a rich community of creatives and agencies—digital and otherwise—it should come as no surprise that Portland has the potential to be a hub of design driven startups. But as a startup, how do you approach the problem of embracing design and thinking about it wholistically? Simple has some thoughts on the matter. And they’ll be sharing them at a Designspeaks event on Wednesday, April 1, 2015.
True disruption requires reinvention. But what does creative destruction look like when the thing that needs improving is an antiquated industry – banking?
Designspeaks brings Simple CEO Josh Reich and Creative Director Ian Collins together for an earnest discussion about how design-thinking – intentional, creative, structured work – is vital in keeping the company nimble, and how that focus has propelled the startup’s rise to key industry player at the intersection of technology and design.
The event will be held at Simple headquarters in the RiverTec building. It’s $30 to attend—but that gets you more than entry. You’ll also get hors d’oeuvres, a hosted bar, and a limited edition commemorative poster. Plus all proceeds got to Designspeaks, a nonprofit that’s doing an amazing job of producing these sorts of events.
