Got an idea for a wearable that’s more fashionable than a piece of neoprene strapped to your wrist? Well, get that idea going. The folks at FashioNXT, the largest fashion gathering in Portland, are holding a contest to identify the next promising wearables designer.
Inspiring innovative thinking, to go above and beyond what has never been imagined before. The Wearable Technology Fashion Competition merges fashing and technology, encouraging designers to make technology wearable in a way that stimulates the public’s imagination. Winning designs will encompass a fashion-forward design with use of the most innovative technology.
Judges for the competition include Project Runway winner Seth Aaron, former Nike global creative director Matt Rhoades, and Google wearables creative director Shiho Fukuhara, among others.
Entries are due by September 1, 2015. Winners receive a prize package that includes 20 hours of consulting from Matt Rhoades in addition to other prizes.
