Teaming up on cleantech: Oregon and Washington organizations partner on Cascadia CleanTech Accelerator

As the world of accelerators continues to mature, we’ll see consolidation and partnering around shared areas of interest—to the benefit of the startups they support. Here in the Northwest, Oregon and Washington are combining forces to help cleantech startups with the Cascadia CleanTech Accelerator, a collaboration between Oregon BEST and the CleanTech Alliance of Washington.

Cascadia CleanTech Accelerator is a new business accelerator powered by the CleanTech Alliance and Oregon BEST. The 12-week program delivers mentorship, curriculum, connections and funding opportunities designed specifically for cleantech startups in the Pacific Northwest.

“Our region is uniquely positioned to lead the nation in clean technology innovation, but launching and sustaining a successful cleantech company presents unique challenges. For this reason, Oregon BEST and the CleanTech Alliance teamed up and designed this new accelerator program specific to cleantech market forces,” said David Kenney, President and Executive Director of Oregon BEST. “The Cascadia CleanTech Accelerator addresses the unique challenges faced by today’s cleantech startups, ranging from disrupting entrenched industries to building a successful hardware company in a software world.”

Cleantech startups interested in receiving support from the accelerator can apply by May 15th. If selected, the program costs $775 per team.
