Portland has its fair share of events where a variety of amazing founders take the stage to pitch their company, share their story, or answer questions about their journey — after its over. But what we don’t have is an opportunity to check back in with founders along their journey to figure out really where they are at this given moment. We want to know: Where are they now…? So we’re going to ask.
Remember that amazing founder you saw on stage a few years ago? Where are they now? We want you to know.
That’s why Built Oregon, Pitch Black, PIE, and Vanport Studio are partnering to celebrate Black founders from our programs by learning more about the journeys of our alums since we last saw them on stage — even if that journey no longer involves startups.
The event will be hosted by Stephen Green — a Built Oregon board member, a PIE mentor, and founder of both Pitch Black and Vanport Studio — featuring a series of fireside chats with a variety of alums from the various programs.
The event takes place at Instrument on February 11, 2025. It is free to attend. But space is limited.
(Fun fact: PIE is already at work on an event in March that will feature a similar format for women founders from a variety of local programs. Also, don’t forget that PIE is throwing together another big community event in April.)
