One of the more established pitch competitions in the region is on the lookout for up and coming venture scale startups in Washington County. It’s time for TiE Oregon Westside Pitch applications, again. But you better hurry. They’re due on March 21, 2025.
Eligible competitors include all entrepreneurs that either operate their business or live in Washington County. Selected businesses will have developed a unique product or service solution that solves a big problem in a national or international market.
Companies will compete for equity investments, cash prizes, as well as in-kind services provided by local businesses. Additionally, the event offers a great opportunity to increase the visibility of the businesses to both investors and the general public.
Trying to decide if it’s worth your time as a founder…? Good. That’s what you should be doing. Here’s my take:
- For founders…
- Good opportunity to see if your startup is truly “venture scale”
- A chance to see other founders who are pursuing equity based investment
- Requires a significant amount of prep and practice
- Great practice for an already dialed-in pitch
- For attendees (May 8, 2025)…
- Longer form pitches from venture scale companies
- Great opportunity to meet new startups that might not be household names yet
- A chance to get more context for TiE Oregon and the work that they do
