Portland startup Hedy releases desktop version of popular mobile AI meeting helper

It’s always nice to wake up to a Portland startup trending on Product Hunt. And that was the case this morning with Hedy — which just released Hedy 2.0 for MacOS. While the product has been a hit on iOS and Android, this release marks its launch on the Mac desktop environment.

So what does Hedy do…? It serves as another set of ears for your meetings.

Hedy is an AI-powered meeting coach that listens to your conversations and provides real-time insights, helping you contribute more effectively and understand complex discussions more deeply. Unlike passive transcription tools, Hedy actively analyzes conversations and offers contextual guidance when you need it most.

Whether you’re in a business meeting, a lecture, or a one-on-one conversation, Hedy helps you:

  • Generate comprehensive summaries for easy follow-up
  • Formulate impressive responses to unexpected questions
  • Identify blindspots and creative angles others might miss
  • Understand complex topics with clear explanations and examples
  • Capture and organize key information without losing focus on the conversation

“Our users have been asking for a dedicated desktop experience since day one,” says Julian Pscheid, founder of Hedy AI. “With Hedy 2.0, we’re not just bringing our existing capabilities to macOS—we’re unlocking entirely new possibilities that weren’t feasible on mobile devices alone.”

I’ve just started mucking around with the MacOS version, and I’m curious to see how it works.

The free version allows you to test drive the app. A paid version provides additional features and collaboration time.
