This past weekend, as one of the final events of Portland Startup Week 2025, AI Portland hosted a build challenge to encourage folks to bring ideas for applying AI and build solutions over a couple of days. And when it was all said and done, there was one solution chosen as the winner: dBias.
AI Portland shared the new on LinkedIn:
What an incredible weekend!
The remarkable creativity and technical prowess displayed at our inaugural Zero to One Build Challenge was truly energizing.
In just 48 hours, 11 dedicated teams conceptualized, built, and pitched AI-powered applications that left judges and audience members in awe. The level of skill, determination, and collaborative spirit demonstrated by every participant was nothing short of inspiring.
🏆 Congratulations to Team 1: dBias.me!
They created an innovative web tool that addresses pervasive online bias by using AI to evaluate content’s perspective and factual accuracy. In an age of misinformation, media literacy is critical to staying well-informed. Try the tool for yourself and stay up to date with their developments! We’re incredibly excited to see where they take this solution next!
To every team that participated: you should be immensely proud of what you accomplished in such a compressed timeframe. The applications created weren’t just technically impressive they represented meaningful solutions to real-world challenges. Keep creating, keep problem-solving. We’re excited to see all of your ideas become reality.
Special thanks to Josh Carter and Upstart Collective for including us in their event roster for PDX Startup Week 2025 and providing such an energizing platform for innovation. Thanks to our friends at the Metro Region Innovation Hub for allowing us to take over the building for two days!
Events like these remind us of the incredible things that happen when bright minds come together in a collaborative environment. The connections made, lessons learned, and ideas sparked will continue to resonate long after the event’s conclusion.
We can’t wait to host more events like this and look forward to continuing to create spaces where thought leaders can come together to build the future.
Here’s to innovation, collaboration, and the next big ideas! 💡
