Portland startup FanWagn wins NextCycle Washington 2025 pitch showcase

It’s always nice to see Portland startups get recognition. But it’s even better when you see them get recognition outside of the region. Which is exactly what happened with Portland startup FanWagn as they won the NextCycle Washington 2025 Best Pitch in the Reuse category.

In the NextCycle WA accelerator, we’ve positioned our startup ahead of textile regulation tailwinds, refined the pitch, and strategically connected with Washington state’s circular economy community (they’re doing fantastic work!)

Congratulations to all 15 teams in this cohort – your dedication to sustainability is inspiring, and we’re proud to be part of this amazing group working toward a greener future for the world, beginning in the PNW πŸŒŽπŸ’š

We want to thank our coaches, who shared expertise, opened Rolodexes, and pushed us to think bigger while never losing sight of the next milestone toward success. We are grateful to all who support NextCycle Washington. It’s awesome that a program cultivating the circular economy can exist, allowing startups like ours to thrive with its guidance.

What does FanWagn do…?

FANWAGN is a dynamic re-commerce marketplace that serves as the ultimate connection point for fans of teams and athletes, enabling them to discover, purchase, and sell a wide range of fan gear. Our online platform is specifically designed by fans, for fans, to facilitate closet-to-closet transactions between buyers and sellers of pre-loved identity-centered apparel.

While our initial focus lies in the realm of licensed sports apparel, the FANWAGN marketplace offers an extensive array of options for sellers to reach out to sports enthusiasts in search of second-hand apparel. Whether collectible jerseys, matching gear for a group attending a thrilling game, or play-condition shirts for kids, our platform, aptly named β€œSecond Fan Fashion,” breathes new life into gently used fan apparel while promoting the principles of reuse and recycling.
