Portland Metro Region Innovation Hub experience inspires Pat Cheung to get back to building

While it’s always heartening to see folks getting more deeply involved in supporting the Portland startup community, it’s even more inspiring when those folks boomerang back into the startup world. Because that’s just a win-win for everyone.

After a brief but meaningful stint at the Portland Metro Region Innovation Hub, serial founder Pat Cheung has decided to head back to his roots in tech — with a new perspective. (If you’ve been in Portland long enough, you already know Pat has a strong track record in product, podcasting, and community. And now he’s got even more tools in the toolbox.)

For the past half year, I’ve had the privilege of working at Metro Region Innovation Hub, supporting startup founders in bringing their innovative ideas to life.

This experience gave me a deep appreciation for the public sector’s role in fostering innovation…and immense respect for the colleagues and partners working tirelessly to grow our local startup ecosystem.…

That said, it’s time for a new chapter.

What’s the new chapter? Details are murky at the moment, but I’ll keep following the story.

For more background (and a few kind shout-outs), read Pat’s full announcement on LinkedIn.
