Two Oregon VCs land on TIME Magazine’s list of top Amercian venture capital firms of 2025

Whenever someone publishes a “best of” list, it’s always nice to see Oregon folks making an appearance. And while this might not be at the level of a “Portland bumps Houston out of Keith Lee’s top 3” sort of moment, it is an admirable showing to have not one but two Oregon VCs showing up on the TIME list of top VCs, a list obviously dominated by California and East Coast firms.

To spotlight the names molding the business landscape, TIME and Statista ranked 350 VC firms at the forefront of catalyzing innovation, supporting emerging startups, and driving the next generation of economic growth. These firms provide direct venture capital funding to companies and startups in various venture stages and sectors as a core part of their business model, and have been ranked based on their fundraising strength in the last five years, their investment capacity, as well as the volume and efficiency of their exits through IPOs and acquisitions.

Oregon’s top VC was Oregon Venture Fund, which came in at No. 225. Portland Seed Fund wasn’t far behind at No. 232.
