How the AI Bubble Ate Y Combinator

While overlap is usually inevitable in accelerator programs, never in its 20-year history have so many YC startups been singularly devoted to one core area of tech. Going through YC’s startup directory reveals that of the 170 startups in the most recent summer batch, 154 are AI startups.

If you want to see startup pitches, you’re going to want to be in the middle of Oregon in the middle of October. That’s because it’s High Desert Innovation Week in Bend, and there will be a couple of opportunities to see lots of startups pitch. Like who…? I’m glad you asked.

Sparrow Pharmaceuticals raises $95M for diabetes therapy – Portland Business Journal

The Series B round was co-led by RA Capital Management and Forbion, with participation from existing investors, including OrbiMed, RiverVest and US Venture Partners, Sparrow announced.

This book outlines a step-by-step process for making sense of messes made of information (and people). The steps are in order but most projects are not, so feel free to skip around or jump to a specific term from the lexicon.

Here I am going, “Oh October… that’s a long ways off.” There’s only on problem with that line of reasoning: it’s actually October next week. I KNOW. I’ve no idea how that happened. But that’s where we are. And with October in the near future, that means that Pitch Latino Portland 2025 is almost here, too.

SEDCOR lauded Daley for his work on the entrepreneurial initiative Launch Mid-Valley, as well as for hosting the organization’s Oregon Startup Conference.

Bend, once again, becomes the hub of innovation in the high desert with High Desert Innovation Fest 2025, an annual gathering of startups and innovators that takes place in conjunction with High Desert Innovation Week and the Bend Venture Conference in mid-October.

The day-long event is part of the High Desert Innovation Week, a region-wide effort to bring together innovators, startups and growing businesses to share resources in Central Oregon. The keynote speaker will be Mark Maggio, co-founder of Boulder Canyon, a packaged goods brand, who will talk about scaling brands, navigating buy/sell transactions and how to thrive in competitive markets.
