Maybe…? Fingers crossed we continue to see an uptick in Intel alum startups

There was a time when I was convinced that Intel was a font of potential startup activity. Unfortunately, facts flew in the face of that. And my confidence waned over time. But recently, hope has been rekindled. With the efforts of Intel alums like AheadComputing. And now, Mueon.

A team made of semiconductor industry veterans have landed $15.5 million from investors to build their vision for more efficient hyperscale computing.

Called Mueon, the startup has a team of 20 led by co-founder and CEO Wilfred Gomes. Gomes spent 27 years at Intel and was an Intel Fellow — the company’s highest level of technical achievement — in microprocessor design and technologies.
