If you’re from Portland — or least familiar with Portland — you’re probably aware of Hasaan Hates Portland. (tl;dr It’s a more pointed and comedic look at Portland than Portlandia.) And I’ve eagerly been awaiting more content from the project. Well, looks like that wish has been answered. Hasaan Hates Portland is working on a feature length film. And you can help.
And if you’re interested in supporting the project, you’re in luck. Because they’re running a Kickstarter campaign to fund the effort.
The film follows Hasaan, a depressed single dad, as he’s suddenly evicted from his home, which sets off a bizarre series of events that follow him throughout a single day as he tries to get his life back on track. When his well-meaning neighbors launch a protest to save his home, he’s suddenly thrust into the spotlight as a reluctant hero who accidentally becomes the face of a movement that he wishes would just leave him alone.
