So you’ve got an early stage bioscience company in Oregon. You’re past the idea stage. You’ve got some early evidence. Now what…? Well, the Oregon Bioscience Incubator has an eight week commercialization program for just that moment. It’s called BioBuild. And applications are open now for Cohort One, which will include 10 companies. But you’re going to want to hustle. Applications close November 20, 2026. (Or sooner if 10 qualifying companies are selected first.)
Moving a bioscience innovation toward the market requires more than technical progress. Founders must make interconnected decisions about customers, development, regulation, intellectual property, reimbursement, partnerships, operations, and funding. BioBuild brings those decisions into one structured experience, helping companies reduce uncertainty, prioritize the right milestones, and build a stronger path forward.
The sessions are virtual, on Tuesdays from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. PT, January 12 through March 2, 2027. Every company gets a dedicated mentor, meeting weekly. And it wraps with an in-person BioBuild Forum & Graduation Celebration on Thursday, March 18, 2027, at the Oregon Bioscience Incubator in Portland.
To apply, you’ll need to be Oregon-based and registered to do business in Oregon. You’ll also need a defined technology or product, plus early evidence or proof of concept. Therapeutics, diagnostics, medical devices, digital health, research and life science tools, biomanufacturing, and other bioscience are all in play. Generally, it’s best suited to technology readiness levels (TRL) 3 to 6.
The subject matter experts supporting the cohort include Yoanne Clovis, Elizabeth Gordon, Carla Pagotto, Chris Perkins, Tali Tuchin, and others. The mentors include Rebecca Crane, Shula Jaron, Nancy Lime, and Christopher Wilson, among others. And the in-kind partners are LeaderCircles, Oregon Life Sciences, Class Four Accounting, s2s Public Relations and Communications, Oregon Entrepreneurs Network, and Holland & Knight.
The program fee is $750 per company. Paid when you submit your application. It’s refunded in full if you’re not accepted.
