Yesterday, about 50 or 60 people make the eastern trek to Slate Technologies.
Actually, there might have been more, but I had to bail early, just as the festivities got going. It’s a good thing they got their signs put up earlier in the week, or so Chris told me, because Slate is in a pretty nondescript office space just east of the SE Foster and SE Holgate intersection.
Once inside, their office is a nice cozy space, definitely larger than what they used to incubate at CubeSpace, with a large common area for working, easily converted to handle the mixing and mingling of a Lunch 2.0.
There’s even an area in the back just off the alley which made for a great barbecue spot for grilling veggie and erm, non-veggie hot dogs.
Aside from the usual meat-life networking, I’m not sure what else went on; looking over the tweets from yesterday, it seems like attendance might have been a bit lower than normal, possibly related to the location or maybe people were too busy talking.
If so, win!
So if I missed something noteworthy, let me know in comments.
Chris did give me a set of Moody Bands, a client of Slate’s, which I’m enjoying right now.
Thanks to Slate for having us all over to visit the Eastside.
Don’t forget these this Lunch 2.0s, coming soon:
- August 26 hosted by Portland Ten, Stoel Rives, FundingUniverse, and NedSpace at NedSpace Old Town
Don’t fret, I have a host on tap for mid-September, which I should be announcing soon. Any takers for the Fall?
Big thanks to all the hosts who have hosted or plan to host Lunch 2.0. Drop a comment (or tweet @jkuramot) if you want information about hosting one. It’s easy.

Glad we could host everyone. We had a great time hosting and grilling food for the Portland Tech Community is always a fun one. Maybe next time we’ll get some bacon on the grill for everyone as well. 😉
Big plus is everyone who tweeted from our offices Wednesday gets free copies of our first two iPhone apps as soon they’re approved by Apple.
Thanks again to everyone who came.
