SXSW curious? Practice your SXSW 2011 Interactive party skills in Portland on January 11

[HTML4]First, we borrowed that whole “Keep Portland Weird” thing from Austin. Now we’re borrowing SXSW. Well, at least for one night.

That’s right. This coming Tuesday, the folks from SXSW will be in town to host a get together for current and potential SXSW attendees. And that means you’re invited.

Wait. What’s that? What’s SXSW, you say?

Well that, my friend, is an annual conference held in Austin, Texas, that brings together technology, movies, and music for two weeks of learning. And maybe, just maybe, a party or two. It’s become a must-attend event for many folks in the startup scene, worldwide. And Portland always tends to send a sizable contingent down there, every year.

And to show their appreciation—and get a few new registrants—the SXSW folks will be hosting a party here in Portland on Tuesday, January 11, at the Doug Fir. Just like they did in 2009.

SXSW Interactive is very excited to announce our first confirmed pre-event parties happening on the West Coast in January. We have a plan to throw a bash in as many cities as we can before the event happens in March. What does this mean to you? If you are a current SXSW badgeholder (or are just interested in SXSW Interactive) and you live on one of the cities we’re visiting January and February of 2011, you should join us to meet others in your community and learn more about the event from SXSW Interactive staffers.

And lookie there. We’re the first stop. So, if you’re going to SXSW, you’ve been thinking about SXSW, or you’re just curious about SXSW, plan on attending this little shindig. I mean, to show the SXSW folks how much we appreciate them stopping by Portland.

You can RSVP for the SXSW party right now by dropping an email to the SXSW team. To make things a little easier, I added this event to Plancast and Upcoming as well. It’s on Calagator too, of course.
