The Portland tech scene lost Paul “@pdxflaneur” Bingman to pancreatic cancer on April 3, 2011. But his contributions to our community—and many other Portland communities—will never be forgotten.
Friends of Paul Bingman have arranged a gathering on 6 PM, Sunday, April 17, at the Portland Art Museum’s Whitsell Auditorium to celebrate his life and to remember those contributions. You’re invited to attend. And if you have the wherewithal, you’re encouraged to donate to help them pay for the memorial in addition to attending the celebration.
If you would like to make a donation to a charity in Paul’s name, the recommended recipients are the Northwest Film Center, who is donating the venue for the event, and the Trinity Labyrinth Guild, who will have a labyrinth at the event for attendees to walk.
For someone who volunteered so much of his time to help others, it seems only appropriate that so many are volunteering to help celebrate Paul’s memory. If you are interested in helping, please add your name to the list.
For more on the gathering, visit the Friends of Paul Bingman Facebook page. Or RSVP to the Paul Bingman Memorial Event on Eventbrite.
