Now granted, there’s a Wikipedia Edit-a-thon and a Code for America hackathon if you want to get out and about. But what if you just want to spend some time in front of your computer, being inspired?
Well, you’re in luck. TEDxPortland is this weekend. And they’re livestreaming it.
What’s TEDx you ask?
TEDx was created in the spirit of TED’s mission, “ideas worth spreading.” The program is designed to give communities, organizations and individuals the opportunity to stimulate dialogue through TED-like experiences at the local level.
At TEDx events, a screening of TEDTalks videos—or a combination of live presenters and TEDTalks videos — sparks deep conversation and connections. TEDx events are fully planned and coordinated independently, on a community-by-community basis.
This TEDxPortland is focused on “Uncharted Territory.” It will feature speakers like Gene Sandoval of ZGF Architects, PHD and roller derby participant Jessica Green, and 11 year-old skateboarding entrepreneur Gavin Davison, among others.
You can watch the whole thing on the TEDxPortland site, Saturday.
