REMINDER: NW Technology Showcase takes place the evening of May 7

Portland can always use more opportunities to showcase all of the awesome things happening in town. And so that’s why I’m happy to see Viewpoint and Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt, bringing together a group of Portland startups for the NW Technology Showcase, tomorrow, May 7.

Hosted at Viewpoint’s new building on Water Ave, the event will feature investors and startups from around Portland.

Jay Haladay will share Viewpoint’s success story, how the company has grown and where it is headed.

Diane Fraiman, Partner at leading West Coast information technology (IT) venture firm Voyager Capital, will provide the investor’s perspective as to what it is they look for from startups, how they spot a future success story, and what resources, experience and connections startups need to build successful companies.

Jon Seeber is a Partner with Washington D.C.-based Updata Partners, which provides growth equity and growth experience to the next generation of technology market leaders. Updata Partners invested in Viewpoint and more recently in Jama Software as well as purchased Ruby Receptionists. Jon will share more about why our region is a fantastic place for technology investment.

Six local startup companies will showcase their innovation through short video presentations on stage and in the tradeshow space.

The event is free but space is limited. It begins at 4:30PM on Thursday, May 7. So even if you’re reading this on Thursday morning, you’ve still got tons of time to grab a ticket—by Portland standards.
