If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a million times: Portland is, by its very nature, a collaborative and collegial community. But even so, it’s rare for us to do a good job of getting a bunch of groups together on a regular basis. That’s why I was happy to see the WITCH Summer Soiree.
The Women in Technology, Coding, and Hacking (WITCH) second event will be held on July 16th at the Jaguar Land Rover R&D Labs in NW Portland. These events give us the opportunity to share our experiences, make new friends, provide informal mentorship, and strengthen Portland’s community of women in technology. Come celebrate summer with snacks and drinks, network, learn about all the groups serving women in computing and technology in PDX, and hatch fun plans for future collaborations!
The gathering is a joint effort among Portland chapters of ChickTech, Girl Develop It, Lesbians who Tech, and Women who Code. (Speaking of, Diana Laboy-Rush of Girl Develop It just got recognized by the Willamette Week as Best Thing-Hacker.)
The event begins at 5:30PM on July 16, 2015. The event is free but you are strongly encouraged to RSVP.
