Talking unikernels with Docker at the New Relic FutureTalk

One of the things I love most about Portland is its culture of curiosity. We want to try the new stuff. To take risks with early technology. And to figure out how we can make use of the latest and greatest. It’s what keeps our tech community at the creative edge. So it’s highly likely that a number are well phrased in the concept of unikernels.

Now, Docker’s EVP of Strategic Development, Marianna Tessel, is joining the local conversation. And you can hear her thoughts Monday night. At New Relic’s FutureTalks series.

Unikernels are a growing technology that augment existing virtual machine and container deployments with compact, single-purpose appliances. To date, these have been something of a specialist’s game: promising technology that requires considerable effort and expertise to actually deploy. After an introduction for newcomers to unikernels, Marianna Tessel will talk about the significance of Unikernels and how they fit into the grand scheme of a Dockerized environment.

Also? I really wanted to make a Unipiper joke, but I just couldn’t get it to work.
