I remember Jon Maroney as a founder. And as a peer as we both ran accelerator programs. So of course, I remember him joining Oregon Angel Fund in the role designed for community engagement and deal flow. Of course OAF changed too — as many thing do — to Oregon Venture Fund. And now, OVF is going to experience another change. Jon Maroney is moving on to his next challenge.
For many, Jon has been the first point of contact with folks who are considering pursuing venture capital. For others, he’s served as the first point of contact for folks “thinking about starting something.” In short, he’s often been the person that most people first encounter in the startup community. And his departure will leave a temporary gap in that way.
I’ll keep track of his new pursuits. Especially given that they’re highly likely to be of the startup variety.
Thanks for all the work you’ve done in the community, Jon. And best of luck on this next chapter.
