More than food: Oregon Entrepreneurs Network expands Angel Oregon vertical to embrace CPG

A few years back, Oregon Entrepreneurs Network — or OEN as the cool kids call it — rebooted their Angel Oregon program as part of an effort to connect early stage startups with early stage capital to help underwrite their efforts. It started as Angel Food, an OEN Angel Oregon program focused on food and beverage. It continued to build on that foundation with Angel Oregon Tech and Angel Oregon Life & Bioscience. And now, it’s expanding the program again.

Angel Food is now Angel Oregon CPG.

This change expands the program beyond food and beverage to welcome founders building across the full CPG spectrum [food, beverage, personal care, wellness, lifestyle, and pet products] – while staying rooted in the same investment readiness, mentorship, and community support that Angel Oregon is known for.

We’re excited to welcome more CPG founders into the Angel Oregon community, and to continue supporting entrepreneurs across tech, bioscience, and consumer products as they grow.

“Oregon is already one of the most dynamic CPG regions in the country, and this evolution allows us to better reflect both the strength of our ecosystem and the opportunity ahead,” said OEN Executive Director Cara Turano in a written statement. “Angel Oregon CPG gives founders a clearer entry point into our community and creates stronger alignment between regional innovation and investor demand.”

As the Portland Business Journal highlights:

OEN’s shift from exclusively food and beverage to the broader CPG industry comes as there is a growing statewide effort by groups such as Oregon Business Council and its Action Lab initiative to implement strategy around the state’s food and beverage manufacturing industry.

The inaugural cohort of the Angel Oregon CPG program begins March 4, 2026. Applications are currently open at a cost of $200 for non-OEN members. The winner will be revealed in June 2026.
