You know me. I like to state—some would say overstate—the obvious. So here we go. You may not know it, but Portland? Portland loves WordPress.
It’s true. We have user groups for it. Build themes for it. Code plugins for it. Heck, some of us even blog with it every now and again.
And once a year, all of us Portland WordPress aficionados like to gather to share ideas, compare notes, and learn from our astute peers at WordCamp Portland. Sound interesting? Well get moving, because WordCamp registration opened today and there’s only room for 200 folks.
Still here? Why haven’t you registered yet? It’s going to sell out.
I’m excited to announce that registration for WordCamp Portland 2009 is now open. Head over to the WordCamp Portland registration site and get your tickets. We have a capacity for around 200 attendees this year. If last year’s event and this year’s interest pan out as I expect, it wouldn’t surprise me that we sell out before the event.
How much you ask? $20, which gets you a tshirt, some food, and access to sheer unmitigated WordPress genius. In other words, that’s a steal.
The event will be held September 19-20 at Webtrends. And will feature awesome speakers like Micah Baldwin, Jason Grigsby, Cami Kaos & Dr. Normal, Will Norris, Tyler Sticka… the list goes on and on my friend.
So what are you waiting for, an engraved invitation? Get registered for WordCamp Portland 2009 and we’ll see you in September. Or, if you’re still not convinced, head on over to WordCamp Portland or follow WordCamp Portland on Twitter for more information on the event.
Damn, in addition to selling out long ago, it’s taking place in the middle of my band’s West Coast tour (and we use WP for our site). Have fun everyone!
BOOM! awwww yeeeeeeah, it’s on!
after just a few hours it looks like a third of the capacity is already filled… but I don’t see your name on the attendees list RIck.
Thanks for the heads-up. The registration window isn’t going to be open very long, judging from a recent tweet:
They’re going fast.
