Reminder: Lunch 2.0 at Extensis Next Week

And we’re back . . . hard to believe that I announced the first Lunch 2.0 of 2010 would be at Extensis on January 20 last Halloween. Equally mind-boggling, to me at least, was the last time we did this was back at Elemental the week before Halloween.

Yeah, I was surprised too and had to recheck those dates. You know what, we should totally do that whole Lunch 2.0 thing again, and soon, like next week.

So, if you missed the whole Lunch 2.0 scene over the last two-and-a-half months, I’m here to feed (ha, pun) that jones.

Mark your calendars now: Portland Lunch 2.0, Extensis, Wednesday, January 20, 2010, 12-2 PM.

I usually do a reminder the week of the actual lunch, but since it’s been so long, I wanted to get as accurate a count as possible going into next week.

So, if you please, head over to Upcoming and RSVP there to let the kind folks at Extensis know that you’re coming and if applicable, how many friends/colleagues/coworkers/bodyguards you’ll have in your entourage.

Oh, and if you’re a vegan or vegetarian, make sure to indicate that the Upcoming event comments, or take your chances.

As if the free lunch and great company isn’t enough to convince you, I hear Extensis will be sweetening the deal with schwag, specifically posters, laptop skins, USB drives, etc. That hanging etc. has your mind wandering, or maybe that’s just me.

So, see you then for the first Portland Lunch 2.0 of the decade. Hey, it might be the first Lunch 2.0 of the decade. Let’s run with that.

Don’t forget these Lunch 2.0s, coming soon:

I know. I majored in obvious. There are others, not yet announced, on the horizon, but I’m always looking for hosts.

If you’re interested or know someone who might be interested in hosting a Lunch 2.0, drop a comment or hit me up on Twitter (@jkuramot). Also, check out the how-to primer.

Big thanks to all the hosts who have hosted or plan to host Lunch 2.0.

  1. I was suggested this website by means of my cousin. I am no longer certain whether or not this submit is written by way of him as nobody else realize such distinctive about my problem. You are wonderful! Thank you!|

  2. Woow, this blog is absolutely wonderful! Thank you for sharing this great content. I also got a site about laptop-information wich primarily provide you information about laptops. I hope you visit my blog soon so we could trade some information. Ones again, thank you for your amazing articles!

  3. Glad you asked. Rick wrote it up when we started back in February 2007: http://siliconflorist.com/2008/01/25/lunch-20-comes-to-portland/

It’s open to anyone and not targeted at any particular audience, although usually the crowd is a mix of technical people and Twitter users, since we use this blog and Twitter as the main promotional tools.

The hosts are varied. Mostly tech companies, but we’ve been hosted by the Art Institute, TechShop and Pacific Real Estate Partners.

My aim is simple: introduce the people of Portland to a company, enjoy some hospitality and grub, and meet interesting people.

Beyond that, people network and do what they like. Hope that helps.

  4. For the uninitiated, what _IS_ Lunch 2.0? Is is for a particular industry? High tech? Is it aimed a B2B networking and/or job search networking?
