Want to profit off of streaming media? Attend OEN PubTalk tonight. I mean in person.

Yes, it’s that time of year again. Where aspiring entrepreneurs stand up and pitch their startup story to a beer quaffing crowd. That’s right. It’s time for OEN PubTalks.

And while any sort of startup is allowed to pitch during the events, here at Silicon Florist, we always take an interest in those startups with more of a techie bent. Tonight, one of those startups will be taking the stage at OEN PubTalk Seed Oregon 2010 – Round 2.

What’s an OEN PubTalk? Well it could be the opportunity for one plucky startup to get funded.

For entrepreneurs with companies on the fundraising path, OEN’s Seed Oregon is a unique opportunity to not only compete for funding opportunities, but to learn the rules of the road of effective fundraising. This entertaining and educational competition is the program for OEN PubTalks during October and November of 2010, and then again, in January and February of 2011.

The competition is for Oregon and Southwest Washington seed-stage companies who are seeking capital within the range of $100,000 to $2,000,000. One winner from each preliminary round will move on to a championship round, where a finalist will earn a coveted presenting opportunity at OEN’s Angel Oregon 2011, the premier angel investing event in the Northwest, on March 16, 2011.

And at tonight’s PubTalk, there is a company that will be of particular interest to anyone who has ever been interested in the world a streaming media. Because it’s a company going to help you figure out how to make a profit from that effort. Meet StreamIt.

StreamIt has built the most comprehensive online video store, giving every producer the ability to sell their valuable content directly to their clients. No percentage-based fees or middle man, just a monthly license and a per-GB fee, affordable to everyone. The Streamit platform gives you the ability to brand your content and not have to deal with noisy pages, pop-up ads and pre-rolls. Just professional, high-quality video delivery everywhere.

Now that sounds pretty cool. And given the competition—Indow Windows and Integrated Power Corporation—they might have a pretty good shot at advancing.

Registration is closed but you can buy your way into OEN PubTalk at the door for $25. What door, you ask? OEN PubTalk is held at Backspace. Doors open around 5:15.
