It’s that time of year. Time to look back and reminisce a little. Especially about the last year in the Portland startup scene.
And while Silicon Florist isn’t the be all and end all of the Portland startup scene, it is an interesting barometer for what’s happening. So I thought it might be interesting to take a look at what the headlines of 2011. Literally.
Now, given my level of creativity—or lack thereof—there are a number of words that appear time and time again in my headlines. So that word cloud (I like to call it “Portland startup“) is a little less than revealing.
But if I chop out all the commonly repeated terms? It gets a lot more interesting.
Well done, Portland! It was a hell of a year. And 2012 looks to be even better.

I LOVE that the two words that stand out are “funding” and “millions”.
