Championing equality: Urban Airship hosts happy hour in support of marriage equality

It’s no secret that we like to brag about the “livability” of Portland. And how our way of life is a huge attraction for folks moving to town. But fact of the matter is, it’s not as good as it could be. Diversity and equality are still huge hurdles for us to overcome. But now, we have the opportunity to remove one of those hurdles by voting for marriage equality. And Urban Airship is looking to help.

This November, voters will decide whether Oregon will become one of the growing number of states (including Washington and California) that allow same-sex marriage. With no other marriage equality bills on state ballots in 2014, national groups that oppose marriage equality are already pouring resources into our state. The margin by which marriage equality is decided in Oregon will be slim.

Join us on Thursday, February 13 to learn more about our campaign and how you can help ensure all loving, committed couples in Oregon have the freedom to marry.

The event begins at 5:30 at Urban Airship’s Portland headquarters in the Vestas building on NW 14th and NW Everett. Questions? Please contact Ellen Flenniken at 971-258-2401 or ellen@orunited.org. Or simply RSVP for the Urban Airship and Oregon United for Marriage event.

  1. I’m so used to seeing convoluted, “stop oppressing my privilege” comments at the end of articles like this that I frankly don’t know what to do with myself now.

    Good job Urban Airship!
