As much as I hate to see startups shut down, I always appreciate when it’s for the right reasons. And while I’ll miss using Clickety — which enabled and empowered me to organize and make sense of the massive pile of dots I’ve collected and connected over the years — I’m heartened that the end of the company is the best course of action for the folks involved.

Acquired Portland startup Cozy is being shuttered
Cozy was one of those memorable Portland startups. Not only for the solutions it brought to market. But also for its presence in the Portland startup community. Like Puppet, and Simple before it, Cozy was one of those startups that had been founded somewhere else, landed high profile investors, and then chose Portland as their headquarters.

Among the other bad news from yesterday, I got a number of pings from folks to let me know that Simple, one of the startups that helped put the Portland startup community on the map, is being shut down. There has not be an official communication in this regard, but there has been discussion online about it.
Sad news: CPUsage shutters product, tranistions to consulting
I’ve had the pleasure of following the CPUsage story since they began at Portland Startup Weekend. And chatting with the founders throughout their journey.
