Now if Portland had to pick a favorite blogging application, I would venture a guess that it would WordPress, the open source CMS that runs many a blog in the Portland area.
And as I’ve mentioned—and will likely continue to mention ad nauseam—there’s no better place in Portland to learn about WordPress. Especially as they continue to add awesome speakers.
You know the original speakers for WordCamp Portland, but here are some recent additions you may have missed:
- Cami Kaos and Dr. Normal: Bondage: How to be your podcast’s Dom, not its Sub
- Will Norris: How NOT to build a WordPress Plugin
- John Hawkins: Building a Plugin – It’s Easier Than You Think
- Garron Selliken: Geotagging and Mapping WordPress Content
No doubt, organizer Aaron Hockley still has some other tricks up his sleeve. So stay tuned.
For me, September can’t get here soon enough.
For more information, visit WordCamp Portland or follow @wordcampdx on Twitter. (Like WordCamp Portland? Or maybe you’re more of a WordCamp PDX type? Make sure to let them know. And of course, two “p”s or not two “p”s. That is the question.)

@Echo Nolan In related news… I’m an idiot. Oy. Thanks for the catch.
Tricks up my sleeve? Maybe. Or maybe just announcements to be made at the Portland WordPress user group meeting next Thursday. Maybe.
Aaron’s twitter account is actually ahockley, not aaronhockley.
