[HTML1]What could possibly make presenting a PowerPoint presentation even more painful? How about presenting off the cuff in front of a crowd without ever having seen the slides? With content that covers who knows what?
Oh my. It’s almost as bad as karaoke. Well, in fact, it is karaoke. Presentation Karaoke. And it’s happening tonight at 7 at the Someday Lounge in Portland.
Imagine that you’re delivering a presentation about a subject for which you have no experience, with slides you’ve never seen, to a boisterous audience of hecklers. Make it a competition with other presenters who are in the same boat and you have Presentation Karoake. Thankfully, the well stocked bar at Someday Lounge can provide a little liquid courage before you take the stage.
But wait. It gets worse. You’re going to be judged on your performance by Amber Case, Cami Kaos, and yours truly.
That’s right! It’s like corporate meetings and annual reviews all tied into one.
So if you’re brave enough, come on down to the Someday Lounge and try your hand at wowing the crowd and the judges with your predilection for presentation. Or just head down to hang out and heckle.
Because we’ve all seen folks flounder in front of PowerPoint. But this time, it’s intentional.

Let’s mull over this for moment.
Would I REALLY want to spend my evening being “evaluated” by a group of arch,West Hollywood style, snotty, ironically detached self-parodying alterna-types with cliche minds?
Hmmmmmm…..
Uh-uh.
This sounds so amazing. As someone who loves fueling awkward moments with alcohol, I wish I could go. It’s like an Ignite/Karaoke/Improv mashup…and I now want to do one of these in Boulder!
Awesome. After reading about similar events in NYC, I was hoping someone would be doing this here.
WOW….I would be all over this….and I’m with John…please film this!!
I wonder if it’s bad to accept bribes… if I were willing to accept them from everyone it would put everyone on even footing again right?
Oh my god, I so want to go to this. I love this idea.
I miss judging speeches! This is going to be fun.
Wow. That makes me almost consider sitting in a car for two hours to attend.
… and this is just one more reason that I would love to live in Portland. I would DEFINITELY be up for this! Please tell me that somebody will be filming this? I would love to see heckle from afar.
