All fired up to present at Ignite Portland 10? Cool your jets.

Ignite Portland has been one of the seminal events for the startup and tech renaissance here in Portland. And it’s one of a handful of events that helped spark—pun intended—and codify a segment of the tech community in Portland proper.

But it’s also important to bear in mind that Ignite Portland is an entirely volunteer run conference. That takes its toll. And that is why the next iteration of the event—Ignite Portland 10—won’t be taking place until mid 2011 at the very earliest.

We love putting on Ignite Portland for everyone. It’s a total blast. But there’s a lot of work involved, and due to availability of some key volunteer organizers, the end of year holidays, as well as the general desire to catch our breath a little, we’ve decided to bump Ignite Portland 10 out into mid 2011 (instead of February). We don’t have a specific date in place yet, but when we do, we’ll be sure to post it here.

So you’ll have to hold your horses, if you’re aching to take the stage. But you might as well get your Ignite Portland 10 proposal submitted while you’re thinking about it.

  1. That’s good. I need all the time I can get to put the finishing touches on my Alternatives to Vajazzling presentation.

  2. Ignite Bend 6 will be held during “Global Ignite Week” on February 9… and if you don’t want to drive all the way to Bend there will be a live stream on our site. 🙂
