Emma? This is the Portland tech community. Portland tech community? Meet Emma… and her free beer

And one of those email loving companies is now officially opening its Portland office. Meet Emma. The Portland edition.

Do you like email? I know right? Who doesn’t? Well, some people love it. Love love love it. They love it so much that they like to help other folks send email. So that more people can have more email. What’s more, they like to make it pretty and straightforward and (gasp!) useful. No. It’s true.

And one of those email loving companies is now officially opening its Portland office. Meet Emma. The Portland edition.

Now admittedly, Emma has been around for awhile. (Portland was home to Emma’s first satellite office, which opened in 2007.) And they’ve been providing some exemplary email distribution and management services. And yes, you may have seen the giant floating Emma heads on the building on Burnside.

But this is making it all official and stuff.

We’re opening the doors to our gorgeous space in the bside6 building to get to know our friends, neighbors and customers around the city.

Dodge the raindrops and stop by anytime between 6-9 pm [Thursday, November 18] for a glimpse of life at Emma’s Portland shop. Enjoy drinks and hors d’oeuvres from Simpatica Catering and giveaways from our favorite PDX shops.

What’s more? Emma’s hiring.

Yes, that’s right. They’re saying, “Please come over and drink our free drinks and eat our free food so that we can hire you to work in our new awesome offices.” Seriously. How can you turn down an offer like that?

That’s right. You can’t.

And word around the campfire is that Hockley Photography might be shooting the event. And you know that guy can make you look good. So you’ll probably get a new avatar out of this whole thing too.

What’s that? Still not convinced? Okay. I didn’t want to have to pull out the big guns but… Selena Deckelmann works at Emma. Fine. There, I said it.

WTF? This Emma thing could be the coolest party EVAR. And you wouldn’t want to miss that, would you, Portland? No. The answer is “No.”

So get ready to hit the Emma launch party next Thursday, you. And please RSVP to let Emma know you’re coming.

What’s that? You need something to do before the Emma thing gets going. Well stay tuned, gentle reader. There’s something very very important happening that same night. Just before the Emma thing fires up.

  2. That was a really fun party. Even more excellent was the fact that Emma sent out hand-printed invitations to guests in the mail!
