Ah late May in Portland. The February Fakeout is a long distant waterlogged memory. And even though we got a few days of awesomeness over the long weekend, any plans you had to anything outside have likely been dashed at this point. So why not join Portland types and WordPress for its 10th Anniversary?
As I write this, there are more than 700 WordPress communities joining in the celebration. So why not take part?
Still not inspired? Well, maybe this love letter from Matt Mullenweg, founding developer of WordPress.
Has it really been 10 years? It seems just yesterday we were playing around on my blog, and the blogs of a few high school friends….
You’re so beautiful… I’m continually amazed and delighted by how you’ve grown. Your awkward years are behind you. Best of all, through it all, you’ve stuck with the principles that got you started in the first place. You’re always changing but that never changes. You’re unafraid to try new things that may seem wacky or unpopular at first.
So if you’ve got a few minutes, this evening, swing by the Green Dragon around 7PM, and join a few WordPress fans to celebrate a decade of open source development.
