An august August: TechFestNW 2014 draws a respected lineup of tech speakers from — and to — Portland

There have been a number of changes for TechFestNW—the annual tech event run in conjunction with MusicFestNW—this year. The event has moved to August, the ticket price has dropped, and they’ve added a talent fair to help startups find the talent they need. But one thing hasn’t changed: the caliber of TFNW speakers.

TFNW has always been about bringing together known tech personalities—from both around and outside Portland—and interspersing them with amazing local speakers who may not be as familiar—but are equally awesome.

This year, the event will be welcoming folks like Kara Swisher of Re/code (“Silicon Valley’s most feared and well-liked journalist“), Mike Dubin of Dollar Shave Club, Genevieve Bell of Intel, Trei Brundrett of Vox Media (Eater, Polygon, The Verge), and Senator Ron Wyden. But we’ll also be hearing from awesome locals like Mara Zepeda of Switchboard, Alan Wizemann of Target, Sce Pike of Citizen+, Samuel Hulick of User Onboarding, and Andrew DeVigal of the University of Oregon. As well as a host of other awesome speakers.

The event will be held at OMSI, again, but the setting will be different, given that OMSI has an awesome newly renovated theater, August 15 and 16th, 2014. Tickets are still available, starting at $99 for TechFestNW only—or $175 for passes to both TFNW and MFNW.
