As a founder, you’re always looking for opportunities to promote your company. And locally, there are few opportunities as big as PitchfestNW, the pitch competition held as part of TechfestNW, Portland’s largest homegrown tech event. Plus, you get a free pass to the event.
It’s always good to see northwest tech and startup publications getting better and better. And that’s why it was great to hear that my friends up north at GeekWire had managed to bring Portland based tech journalist Tom Krazit onto their team.
One of my favorite things about attending events—tech or otherwise—is the opportunity to discuss what I’ve heard with other attendees. To get their takes. And their perspectives. Because everyone hears something different. Even though we’re all hearing the exact same presentations. And there’s often nowhere better to have those conversations than a relaxed atmosphere. Like a hallway. Or a happy hour.

When you’re just starting out, getting the attention that you firmly believe that your earth shattering startup idea deserves? That can be challenging—at best. And that’s why a new event from TechFestNW attracted more than 100 applicants. Read More
