Meet the Startup: Chatting about startups and accounting with Perkins & Co.

What’s one of the scariest things about starting a company? Quitting the day job? Nope. Managing to build an awesome product? Not really. Finding customers? Close. For many, the scariest thing happens to be accounting. And managing the books.

Go on. Admit it. It scares you to death having to deal with that stuff. But it doesn’t have to. David Uslan of Perkins & Co. tells you why as he talks about startups and accounting.

  6. The first thing a good startup attorney will tell you to do is find a good startup accountant.

Great video, I love this sort of content as a supplement to the startups themselves. Keep it up!

  7. Hi,

Well, anything that you do not keep track can haunt us back. Accounting is no different. So, when you start-up a wise thing to do is take advise from an accountant and purchase an accounting software. With the advent of online accounting software the risks of choosing an accounting software has been reduced to zero.

Disclosure: I am from Zoho and we offer an accounting software called Zoho Books (http://www.zoho.com/books) in addition to 25 other applications. This is available online and comes with a one month free trial.

    Regards
    Prashant

  8. I often like to put these videos in the background and simply listen to them while I’m working, but the questions are never spoken so I don’t get to hear them. It’s not that big of a deal because the answer is the more interesting thing, but it might be nice to have the questions spoken too.

Thanks for doing these, they’re awesome!
