We created 30 Hour Day for two reasons: to give back to the community and to allow the anyone to take our content and use it as they see fit. A little give, a little take.
So it would probably help if we told you how to do that, wouldn’t it? Of course it would.
While Rick soldiers through a very long day, a 30 hour one to be exact, the staff here must pick up the slack. So, here goes.

Not familiar with them? They are a San Francisco-based startup, funded by Benchmark Capital and Trinity Ventures, that just so happens to have a satellite office here in the Rose City.
They provide cloud-based tools to monitor, optimize and troubleshoot Java, Ruby and JRuby web applications, including some you might have heard of like Highrise and Basecamp.
That’s right, 37Signals uses New Relic RPM. So do AboutUs and a whole mess of other customers.
Oh, and they’re hiring in Portland.

Today, Portland-based Small Society and Urban Airship announced the release of the Democratic National Committee iPhone/iPad app.
[HTML4]Now as many of you know, a good chunk of the development team for original political iPhone app—the Obama iPhone app—lived right here in Portland. And the positive reception that app and its developers received is likely one of the reasons that Portland continues to prosper as a hub for mobile development.
But clearly Portland mobile folks still have a little politics in their veins. You see, now some of the Obama app folks have teamed up with some other Portland mobile folks.
