Elemental shows off the goods

On Wednesday, Elemental Technologies hosted Lunch 2.0 in downtown.

In addition to the usual suspects, I noticed a lot of new faces, which was great. This was partially a happy coincidence and partially by design.

Because Elemental builds software that, in the words of Julie Williams, Elemental’s Communications Manager, “masters the art of using massively parallel solutions to accelerate video conversion,” I figured our friends over at the Governor’s Office of Film and Television might be interested. Reminder: eROI Lunch 2.0 is Wednesday

We’re headed back to eROI for Portland Lunch 2.0 on Wednesday for their second lunch.

If you’re keeping score, this will be the fourth Lunch 2.0 in that office building at 505 NW Couch in Old Town.

In addition to the two eROI lunches, we were there just last month at Nedspace, which is in the old offices formerly inhabited by Vidoop where we had Lunch 2.0 in May of last year.

Elemental Technologies to Host Lunch 2.0 in October

Portland Lunch 2.0 has received a temporary stay of execution from Elemental Technologies.

I joke, but seriously, either interest has dried up or the idea of giving 100 or so people free grub doesn’t seem as good as it did last year. Surprise.

Anyway, thanks to Davy Stevenson (@davystevenson) and the rest of the crew at Elemental, we’ll be networking and chowing down for at least another month.

Portland Ten Lunch 2.0 Features Livepitches and Late Lunch

Yesterday, Portland Ten, Stoel Rives, FundingUniverse, and NedSpace sponsored the first Lunch 2.0 to feature another event, livepitching.

Turns out, there was another unintentional first. No lunch, or rather late lunch.

I’ll take the blame here for not realizing in advance our hosts had ordered the pizza to arrive after the livepitching, rather than at noon. Unfortunately, several people left hungry, and I know you can’t all take a full two hours away from work for lunch.

Lunch 2.0 Ventures East to Slate Technologies

Yesterday, about 50 or 60 people make the eastern trek to Slate Technologies.

Actually, there might have been more, but I had to bail early, just as the festivities got going. It’s a good thing they got their signs put up earlier in the week, or so Chris told me, because Slate is in a pretty nondescript office space just east of the SE Foster and SE Holgate intersection.

Reminder: Lunch 2.0 at Slate Technologies Wednesday

Wednesday looks to be chilly, only in the 80s, so if you’ve been inside for days in front of the AC or if you’re just looking for a reason to venture East, head over to Lunch 2.0 at Slate Technologies.

Even if you’re not familiar with Slate, you probably know the team: Chris O’Rourke (@chrisorourke), Elizabeth Buckwalter (@elizabetcb), Daniel Erickson (@techwraith) and Jeffrey Erickson (@jeffreykaine).

Shredded Money and Freebies at Lunch 2.0

Yesterday, what looked like about 100 people tried to fill the enormous fifth floor of Jive Software‘s offices in the old Federal Reserve building.

Our hosts were Mark Friel and Kristin Hammond (@FzMcFadden) of Pacific Real Estate Partners, the brokerage that secured the space for Jive. The fifth floor is rough and unfinished inside, except for the bathrooms (more on that in a minute), and has its own elevator.

Apparently, the floor was added by previous tenants, but only one elevator goes all the way to the top. Sounds like mysterious, Men in Black, CONTROL stuff. It was a Federal building . . .
