I don’t want to get my hopes up. Or our collective hopes up. But there’s something about a new happy hour popping up on Meetup that makes me think that things may be changing for the better. Especially when it’s a gathering that brings together a community of folks who could use more happy hours. Like the local hardware community. Meet Hardware Happy Hour (3H) Portland.

REMINDER: Looking forward to seeing you at the Portland startup community happy hour, this Thursday
I realize it’s only Tuesday. But you’re a startup founder. Or you work for a startup. Or you work. And it’s already been a long week. But you know what? There’s a light at the end of the tunnel. An oasis. A respite, if you will. Not only that, it’s also an opportunity to meet both more of your peers as well as some awesome folks from out of town. Ringing any bells? That’s right. There’s a Portland startup community happy hour on Thursday, June 27, 2019.
It’s no Beer and Blog but it is an opportunity to meet a chunk of the Portland startup community
There was a time, not so long ago, when the Portland startup community used to gather on a regular basis at a happy hour called Beer and Blog. It was a time to catch up with friends. A time to make new connections. A place to send folks when they were looking to get better connected to the community. And it’s how many folks who are still involved in the Portland startup community met one another, originally.
Make some time to meet some makers and manufacturers: Friends of Fictiv happy hour
Like most things Portland, there are a ton of awesome makers and manufacturers in town doing a ton of awesome things. But thanks to our culture of aggressive humility, we don’t always know about all of that awesomeness. That’s why it’s nice to have things like the Friends of Fictiv happy hour. If only to bring some of those hidden gems in our midst to light.
Did you know that Fictiv has a Portland office? Well, they’re having a part-y. And you’re invited to take part.
Who better to host a happy hour than Happy Startup School?
It’s always nice to have startup friends from around the world swing by Portland. And it’s even nicer when Portland takes the opportunity to meet up with them. Which is what I would suggest that you do with the Happy Startup School crew who is stopping by Portland en route to Mt Hood.
Thank you so much to all of you generous patrons. And to Stoel Rives for kindly hosting a celebration.
When I started mucking around with Patreon, I thought it might be good to test all of the functionality. Like different patron levels. And setting a goal.
Healthcare startup? Healthcare mentor? Join PIE at The Dairy Building for the Accelerate Biotech & Digital Health Happy Hour
Digital healthcare has long been one of Portland’s strongest areas of startup success and support. But like so many awesome Portland things, it’s also a tightly knit community for which it can be difficult to figure out where to start. That’s why OTRADI Oregon Bioscience Incubator started a regular happy hour. So that making those connections could be easier.
Talking TechfestNW with Mark Zusman
While it may be too late to get your ticket to TechfestNW, this year, it’s never too late to learn more about how one of the largest local tech conferences has grown over the years.
I miss you
Hey. How have you been? It’s been a while. You’re looking good. And that new thing that you’re working on…? Yeah. It’s awesome. Really. So cool that you’re doing that. But honestly, we’ve all been so busy I feel like we’ve lost touch. And as much as I enjoy being snarky with you on the Twitters, seeing your adventures on Instagram, and sharing Snapchat filters, it would actually be really really good to see you in person. You know, all IRL and shit. Read More
